How many times has Rashid Khan dismissed Babar Azam?
With his exceptional accuracy, line, and excellent variations, Afghanistan’s ace leg-spinner Rashid Khan has left some of the world’s best batsmen perplexed, and star batsman Babar Azam has been his most frequent victim, having been bowled six times by Rashid.
Rashid has dismissed Babar six times, including four innings in T20 franchise events and two times at the international level.
The first time Babar was dismissed for 66 runs by Rashid Khan came at the Aisa Cup 2018 in Abu Dhabi, in an intriguing match between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The second incident occurred in England during a T20 Blast 2019 match. Babar was a Somerset batsman, and Rashid was a Sussex batsman, and he took his wicket.
The third time came during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 match between the Lahore Qalandars and the Karachi Kings, when Rashid triumphed against Babar.
Rashid cleanly bowled Babar with a superb ball at the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, leaving Pakistan’s top hitter baffled. Rashid grabbed the wicket at a key point in the game, removing the well-established Babar and bringing his team back into contention.
The fifth and sixth occurrences occurred during the PSL this year.
It happened during the Karachi leg’s first-round match between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars. Rashid clean bowled Babar, who fell to his knees and missed the delivery, which bounced off the stumps.
And the sixth one came during the ongoing clash when well-settled Babar missed Rashid’s full-pitched ball and the wicket-keeper whipped off the bails quickly as Babar had no time to bring his bat back into the crease and had to go back to the pavilion after scoring 39 runs.
