Pakistan win T20I series 2-0 against West Indies
KARACHI: Pakistani bowlers performed excellently to help Pakistan beat West Indies 2-0 in a three-match T20I series at National Stadium.
Brandon King’s 67-run innings was in vain as Pakistani bowlers staged a remarkable comeback to give his team a nine-run win. He broke six records and set three new ones. Run-a-ball number 26 was made by Nicholas Pooran.
Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim Jr both took two wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf each took one wicket.
Shadab Khan had earlier advanced Pakistan’s total in the second match, putting up 172-8.
After losing his opening partner Babar Azam earlier, Mohamamd Rizwan once again produced a strong start for Pakistan. He hit four boundaries and a six in his 38 runs off 30 balls.
Rizwan was well assisted by Haider Ali, who scored 31 runs off 34 balls, including four boundaries.
Iftikhar scored 32 with two sixes and a boundary, while Shadab stayed unbeaten on 28 with three sixes and a boundary.
Odean Smith took two wickets for the West Indies, while Akeal Hosein, Oshane Thomas, Romario Shepherd, and Hayden Walsh each took one wicket.
The toss has been won by Pakistan, and they have elected to bat first.
